Application of synthetic acyl glucopyranosides for white-rot and brown-rot fungal decay resistance in aspen and pine wood

چکیده
Due to its non-toxicity and environmentally friendly nature, carbohydrate-based fatty acid (CFA) esters are encouragingly used as antimicrobials synthetic intermediates. They also notably applied in food, surfactant, pharmaceutical industries. In this respect, methyl 2,6-di-O-isopentanoyl-α-D-glucopyranoside (2), synthesized a single step from α-D-glucopyranoside (1), was converted into four other 3,4-di-O-acyl (3 – 6). All the newly CFA (2 6) were for first time study decay resistances of aspen (Populus tremula) pine (Pinus sibirica) wood caused by white-rot (Polyporous versicolor L.ex. Fr.) brown-rot (Postia placenta (Fr). Cke.) fungi. Most these protected woods fungal attack, reduced deterioration, preserved weight percentage at certain point. It is noted that compounds deterioration suppressed loss point low moderate against selected

Extensive sampling of basidiomycete genomes demonstrates inadequacy of the white-rot/brown-rot paradigm for wood decay fungi.
Basidiomycota (basidiomycetes) make up 32% of the described fungi and include most wood-decaying species, as well as pathogens and mutualistic symbionts. Wood-decaying basidiomycetes have typically been classified as either white rot or brown rot, based on the ability (in white rot only) to degrade lignin along with cellulose and hemicellulose. Prior genomic comparisons suggested that the two d...
متن کاملFungal hydroquinones contribute to brown rot of wood.
The fungi that cause brown rot of wood initiate lignocellulose breakdown with an extracellular Fenton system in which Fe(2+) and H(2)O(2) react to produce hydroxyl radicals (.OH), which then oxidize and cleave the wood holocellulose. One such fungus, Gloeophyllum trabeum, drives Fenton chemistry on defined media by reducing Fe(3+) and O(2) with two extracellular hydroquinones, 2,5-dimethoxyhydr...
متن کاملDecay mechanisms of brown-rot fungi
Brown-rot fungi, e.g. the dryrot fungus (Serpula lacrymans), are the most harmful microorganisms in wood in service in Finland and in temperate regions. Brownrot fungi cause wood decay primarly by attacking the carbohydrates of the cell walls, leaving lignin essentially undigested. At the initial stage of the decay, the brown-rot fungi seem to operate by a mechanism which cause extensive change...

متن کاملGene expression analysis of copper tolerance and wood decay in the brown rot fungus Fibroporia radiculosa.
High-throughput transcriptomics was used to identify Fibroporia radiculosa genes that were differentially regulated during colonization of wood treated with a copper-based preservative. The transcriptome was profiled at two time points while the fungus was growing on wood treated with micronized copper quat (MCQ). A total of 917 transcripts were differentially expressed. Fifty-eight of these ge...
